This is usually because an order was returned or cancelled — either yours, or one placed by someone you referred.

When this happens, the points tied to that order move from "pending" to "cancelled" and won't be added to your balance. If you referred a friend and their order is later cancelled or returned, the points you were due to earn from it will be cancelled in the same way.
